Just a great way to see Paris...

I had read previous reviews for this tour on Tripadvisor & like them I was well impressed with these fellas. I'd booked a surprise weekend for my partner & decided with the time we had available to book this too. From the start & meeting the guides outside Notre Dame, it was evident the lads knew their stuff. The walk to the bikes was barely more than 5 minutes & after some perfunctory safety stuff we were off. What followed was 3 1/2 hours worth of highly enjoyable information gleaning, from a knowledgeable & charming guide, who was both articulate & amusing. He was the kind of bloke that if I was a woman, I'd want to take home to my mum! We got to see loads of stuff, from schools where Jewish kids were kidnapped by the French police on behalf of the Nazis, to the most expensive street in Paris, to the Pompidou Centre, to the Louvre, to all sorts of other stuff. You don't ever feel like you want to stop & start visiting places, rather you make a mental note, as Cathy & I did & went back later to the places we wanted to see more in-depth. Go do this, it really is great fun.

Terrific fun and terrific value

Paul is a terrific guide and the list he gives you at the end of the tour of his favourite bars/restaurants is worth the (very reasonable!) tour price itself. There's no need to be worried about cycling in traffic as almost all of the tour is conducted via quiet streets or cycle lanes. I'd recommend doing the tour as early as possible during your visit to Paris as it really helps you get your bearings and you will feel like you have seen loads of the city straight away.

Superb bike tour!

The Bike About tour was the first thing I did in Paris, and it really set the tone for the rest of my trip - Amazing! I highly recommend taking this tour - my personal highlight was riding through the courtyard of the Louvre but there were so many interesting things to see and hear about the time flew really quicky! I saw alot more of 'hidden' Paris that I definitely would not have seen if it wasn't for bike about. The only thing I regret is not taking Paul up on the offer to rent the bike for the rest of the afternoon - it would have saved me alot of time. I cannot recommend this highly enough - do it!!!!

Excellent. Make sure it is on your to do list for Paris!

My fiance Paul and I did this bike tour on Tuesday it was great. I'd been to Paris before but it was so nice to see a different view of the city. No hills, Very easy to cycle around for all ages. Paul the co owner came with us and was very knowledgeable. Would definitely recommend it. Make sure it's on your to do list for Paris.

Bike About Tours -- friendly, fun way to see Paris

We went on a morning's tour with Bike About on a freezing, drizzly day in February and had a great time. The bikes were in really good condition and were very easy to ride. Christian was a great guide -- easygoing and knowledgeable. The best thing about these tours is that they take you round the back streets to some of the prettiest, coolest corners of Paris and you learn odd facts that you'd never have known otherwise. We'd been to Paris four or five times before but discovered places on this trip that we never knew existed. The cycling wasn't strenuous -- would suit all ages -- but the hot chocolate stop at one of Christian and Paul's favourite cafes was appreciated! Thoroughly recommend this trip if you want to do something fun and different in Paris (and check out the Bike About recommended restaurants list -- we tried some out and they were great!)
