Being an Arizona native I was surprised to find out there was white water rafting anywhere here besides the Grand Canyon and was excited when I got the opportunity to take a full day rafting trip with Mild to Wild on the Upper Salt. It was about a two 1/2 hour drive from Phoenix to the launch site where we met our guides and headed out. It was mostly class three rapids with a couple class twos and a class four. There was also just the right amount of down time for relaxing on the water and enjoying the scenery. We stopped midway and enjoyed a great lunch (hot-of the grill steak) and even did a quick hike up to a beautiful waterfall. I can't recommend this trip and Mild to Wild enough. You'll love it.

So much fun to be had with Mild to Wild. I particularly enjoyed (as in LOVED!) the rafting adventure on the Piedra River. Class 4 rapids and scenery to beat the postcards. Even saw a bald eagle!
A thrilling ride with a enough calm spots to relax and enjoy the pristine wilderness. Mild to Wild made the whole thing easy, exciting and fun.
You have to try this!
We had a great time with this company.

Our whole family had a ball on this rafting trip. The company was professional and took care of everything. They trained us well on paddling the raft. This was a fairly mild trip, with mostly class I and II, and one class III rapids. The kids loved every bump and splash. We especially want to commend our guide Kyle, who took us down the lower Animas. Not only was he an excellent guide, steering us adroitly through the obstacles and commanding our crew expertly, but most of all, we appreciated how he interacted with our autistic 12 year old son Sam. Sam was clearly nervous about the trip. Kyle helped calm him and praised his efforts to point out EVERY rock in the river. At the rest stop, he got Sam to wade into the river and became his buddy. As a result, Sam, as well as the rest of us (parents, teenage boy, and twenty-something daughter and boyfriend) had a great time. We are all ready to do it again...intermediate next time! We definitely recommend this company for a fun time on the river.
Rafting the Lower Animas

My two sons and I rafted the lower Animas with M2W on a 4-hr trip. We had never rafted before so this was a good introduction. M2W was very professional and well organized. Zack was our guide. It was his first year out and did a good job.
The Durango area has a variety of water for rafting, from beginner to advanced and when we go back next year for a more challenging run, we will use M2W.
Fast Fun!

We took this rafting trip as first timers and loved it. It was well run and all guides were enthusiastic and experienced. Our guide, Jeremy was personable and fun.
Even though we had never done it before, we felt that we could have handled class III or IV.
I would recommend a day trip rather than 2 hours. It flew by and we wished we had signed up for a longer run.
