From 24/01/10 up to 8/02/10 we stayed in de Sentido Neptude Palm Beach Resort. A really good resort. The atmosphere was friendly', the sea was beautiful and warm. We looked around for a safari to one of nearby National parks. People who came back from a road safiri to Tsavo told us about the bad and dangerous conditions of the road. So we decided to book an air safari to the Masai Mara. There are many travel agencies. Finally we have choses for WT Safaris Ltd. The WT-representative Henry Best was located right to hotel near the beach. He explained every detail of the trip that WT Safaris offered: and we got what he promised: an easy trip to Masai Mara, a luxury camp set on the banks of the Talek River overlooking the Mara Plains. Our Masai driver Jonathan ttok his time and showed us "the big '5 "and of course a lot more. It was really an expierence ! Jolanda & Guus. The Netherlands
Life on the wild side - Masia Mara safari BIG VALUE small budget

It exceeded our expectations - despite all the excellent TV documentries, there'snothing like seeing Africa's wild life in it's natural surroundings. Our guide William Mangi owner of Kenya Explorer Safaris is experienced and knowlegable and in 2 days we saw so much. We stayed at a camp just outside the Reserve in tents with proper comfortable beds and a flush toilet and hot shower. William even took his own and superior food for us which was well cooked by the camp staff. If you are looking for a safari BIG on value but small on budget contact William on www.kenyaexplorersafaris.com

Excellent place to start a safari. Stayed at the Mara Serena Lodge...
Used Neo Destinations in Nairobi for setting up the ground arrangements. Outstanding Guide - Shafiy - he couldn't do enough for us.

After nine trips to the Mara Triangle I will continue to go back. The landscape and the animal viewing is superb. Every day is different and you never know what you will find around the corner. Herds of ellies, lions and their cubs, cheetah, those funny warthog babies, birds galore, various antelope species and yes even the elusive leopard and rhino can be found in the Mara. Spectacular sunrises and sunsets make this a magical place. You even have a good chance of seeing a wildebeest crossing during their annual migration--a sight to behold. A truly magnificant setting and it's there for you to enjoy.
Safari to the Masai (or Maasai) Mara

In October I went on a Safari with a group of friends to the Masai Mara. I have recently moved to Kenya to live and therefore managed to get hold of a good local guide, who is polite, skilled, well educated and well prepared for everything abut the Mara.
Before booking he gave us a number different options for the Safari, including both high end and budget options. We thought we would go for the budget option which was incredibly well priced, much cheaper than anything we had been offered yet.
The budget accomodation was permanent tents, which had beds in and a shower and toilet in the back. The campsite was nicely maintained and the guide provided food for breakfast, lunch and dinner. You ate this in a communal dining hut which had a small resonably priced bar. The camp was situated just outside the Mara and was gaurded by the local Masai community to stop wild animals or thieves getting in; although this is not so much of a problem outside of Nairobi.
The Maasi Mara was beautiful and I was amazed at the amount of animals we saw. Lions, elephants, giraffes, gazelle, impala, thousands of zebra, hippos, crocs and many more. The landscape is incredible and the trip to the river on the second day brings you close to hippos and crocodiles (under the protection of a wildlife rangerwith a big gun!). It was truly amazing but what made it a special trip was the professionalism and knowledge of our guide. He was fun to be around, took a genuine interest in the animals, was an excellent driver and made the whole experience thoroughly enjoyable.
I would completely recomend him to anyone and I have included his companies website and telephone number below. The package we choose was a great cheap option, under $200 US per person (excluding park fees). However the company also deals with all the lodges in the Mara as well and I hear Nakuru, Naivasha, Tsavo, the coast and anywhere in Kenya. Sorry to sound like an adver but it is rare to come across a real bargain in Kenya and this company was excellent!
