Fantastico!

Although my husband and I had been to Rome before, we were scheduled to port in Rome as part of a cruise we recently took and didn't want to do the standard cruise ship highlight tour. Out of the 6 cities we visited, Miles and Miles made Rome the highlight of our vacation. Francesco was a great guide, tailoring our day to our needs and taking us to places that tourists do not go. We had the best cappuccino at a little cafe, went to a local bakery and had pizza, and then had lunch that was so delicious we almost cried. There was more than food of course... he told us stories in St Peter's that we hadn't heard before, visited one of the remaining keyholes in Rome that you can see three countries from, and drank from one of the fountains at the "People's Square". We will definitely recommend Miles and Miles to our friends and will use them again the next time we come to Italy since they also offer tours in Florence, Sicily and Pompeii. Seeing the city from a true Roman's perspective was unforgettable. Thanks Francesco!

Maximum touring for our minimum stay

We booked Miles & Miles for our first visit to Rome....and had an excellent introduction to this beautiful city: it's history...it's monuments.....the people...the food! Franceso offered a friendly, informative and well organized overview.......and we will certainly book again for a return visit.....perhaps to do the Vatican City tour. I have recommended Miles & Miles since our return, promising that the fees are worth the personal service, convenience and expertise. I would feel fortunate to find as exemplary a guide service in all the other cities traveled!!

A wonderful experience, a lifetime memory"

My husband and I had been planning a trip to Italy for years and finally went in August 2009. We planned everything ourselves, realizing that it would be better to have a guide in Rome as we only had 3 days. After reading the great reviews on Tripadvisor, I decided to book with Miles and Miles. Roberto took us on the one-day city tour, seeing all the main sites and even some that we had not thought we would have time to see, such as the catacombs. We did not feel rushed, even stopping to get cappuccino and having a wonderful lunch at a picturesque family restaurant outside of Rome beside a volcanic lake. We toured comfortably in a Mercedes van, stopping whenever we wanted to. Roberto was so easy to talk to, as well as being extremely knowledgeable about all varieties of subjects. He speaks with a definite love for his city and he makes you love it too. His gorgeous daughter Noemi gave us a half-day walking tour of the Vatican (all we had time for) and I was entranced. She had so much knowledge and we saw so many things, never feeling rushed or pushed for time. It was such a great experience. We totally fell in love with Rome and plan on returning some day, thanks to a great first experience from Miles and Miles. Highly recommend touring with the Miglio family--you will make some wonderful memories.

Amazing service, genuine enthousiasm: the BEST way to see Rome

I had only one day to see the major highlights. After reading reviews and fearing disappointment on the large bus tours, I decided to spoil myself with a personal tour by Roberto. It was worth every penny. His knowledge coupled with a fresh enthousiasm and clear love for this beautiful city made it a day never to forget. We went 'off track', covering sights and information not covered by the standard tours and at all times, at my favoured pace. His restaurant advice was a gem unlike the oh so often overpriced recommended restaurants of other tour guides and hotels: authentic, no tourists, amazing food at a great price. I am returning to this wonderful city later in the year and look forward to seeing the Vatican - with Miles & Miles off course.

What a great tour!

We decided to book our reservation with Miles and Miles because of the great reviews they received here at Tripadvisor. It turned out to be a great decision. We learned before our cruise that it was much less expensive to hire a private tour than book one with the cruise. We arrived in Port at Livorno and Roberto was waiting for us outside our ship. We traveled in a comfortable Mercedes van. Roberto is friendly and courteous and very knowledgeable. He answered our questions and even did his best to engage our teenage kids in the conversations. He tailored the tour to our requests. He gave us options for meals and took us to a very good restaurant, OSTERIA DEI PONTEFICI, near the Vatican. We enjoyed a great meal then took an afternoon tour of the Vatican Museum guided by Roberto's wife. The Miglio family operates a top notch tour. Don't miss it!
